re-exporting samba via nfs

hi!

i tried to export a samba fs mounted on the nfs server via nfs.
but when mounting the nfs fs on a nfs client, accessing the samba tree seems to block the whole nfs share doing nothing - after killing e.g. the 'ls', access to non-samba-reexport parts resumes normally...
is it that samba shares can't be exported, or am i just missing something?

The kernel cifs filesystem is supposed to be exportable, but I haven't
tried to use that myself yet.
